Med Surg Neuro Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position on a 32-bed Med Surg Neuro unit
* 36 or 48 hour per week scheduling options available; any hours over 48 are considered overtime
* Self-scheduling unit
* 6 weekend shifts required within every 6-week period
* No call required
* Floating to like units as needed
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* Rapid response team activation support available
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, and more
* Patients include adult and geriatric age groups
* 1 year of recent Med Surg or Neuro experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Epic charting system used
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (pending okay); CPI preferred
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, CVA management, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
