Opportunity:

Sterile Processing Tech

Job Details:

* Work 3x9-hour shifts, Friday through Monday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
* No on-call responsibilities required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM)
* Charting system experience required; experience with any charting system accepted
* Must be proficient in cleaning equipment including crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps
* High-level disinfection (HLD) experience required
* Must be skilled in use of washers and sterilizers
* Experience with case cart management and proper selection of wrapping materials required
* Must be knowledgeable in sterilization wrapping procedures and sets/tray assembly
* Equipment documentation experience required
* Must have experience in specialties including Ear/Nose/Throat, General, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Urology
* Experience with biological indicators, chemical indicators, steam sterilization testing/monitoring, and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) required
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All requested time off must be submitted upfront during the submittal process
* May be required to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility operates with 325 staffed beds and provides a wide range of medical and surgical services. The facility supports a robust sterile processing department handling diverse surgical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, OB/GYN, urology, plastics, and ear/nose/throat procedures. The organization utilizes EPIC as its electronic charting system and maintains high standards for sterile processing and patient safety.
