Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
* Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
* Scheduled every other weekend and holidays in rotation
* Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3-1:4 depending on patient acuity
* Care for up to 1-3 ICU patients including patients on ventilators
* Float to emergency department or PCU to care for PCU or ICU holds as needed (travelers are first to float)
* Conduct bedside shift report for every patient with each transfer of care
* Proficiency in reading telemetry strips required
* Advanced skills required: CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy
* Administer breathing treatments including inhalers and nebulizers outside of the ICU
* Perform and assist with procedures including post-op day 0 CABG, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, and advanced hemodynamics
* Experience with neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, bolts (Codman), and Arctic Sun induced hypothermia preferred
* 36 months of RN experience required with at least one year in an ICU
* One previous successful travel nursing assignment preferred, ideally in a facility using Meditech
* BSN preferred
* Advanced certifications preferred
* TNCC certification preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Equipment includes i-mobile phones for each care team member and mobile computer workstations on wheels
* Required uniform: Navy scrubs

This 313-bed facility is a well-established acute care hospital known for its 24-hour emergency room and Level II Trauma Center. The facility offers a wide array of specialized services including a burn clinic, breast care center, and robotic surgery institute. The facility has earned numerous awards and accreditations, including Chest Pain Center accreditation by the American College of Cardiology and Stroke Center accreditation from The Joint Commission. The ICU team is willing to train travelers with an interest in developing skills as a Neuro ICU or Cardiovascular ICU nurse, and the facility is home to one of only 14 programs in the nation offering training in head and neck flap procedures.
