Job Details:

* 48-hour work week with overtime billable after 48 hours worked in a week
* Shift times: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (days) and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (nights)
* ANM shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
* Weekend rotation: every other weekend, but can be variable based on need
* No mandatory on-call requirements
* Holiday rotation: fair and equitable distribution
* Schedule made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to start
* Block schedule cannot be guaranteed; will be utilized to fill in scheduling gaps
* Level II Trauma Center with Level IV NICU
* 34 L&D beds including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum, 4 OB ED, and 3 OR
* 18 postpartum beds
* Up to 300 deliveries per month with a 33% C-section rate
* High acuity patient experience required including hypertension, Mg administration, C-sections, preterm labor, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
* Patient ratios per AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum dependent on acuity
* LD RN skills required: labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients, OB triage, OR circulation, cervical checks, reading and interpreting fetal monitoring strips, and recovery of normal newborn as needed
* ANM skills required: charge nurse experience is a must, occasional patient assignments, OB ED patient management, strong interpersonal skills, staff rounding, conflict management, and willingness to educate staff
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Equipment used: Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate FHM (AWHONN)
* Floating may occur to antepartum (within L&D) and postpartum (4th floor) occasionally; no floating for ANM
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with previous travel experience; 5+ years preferred
* First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis for LD RN; ANM requires solid charge nurse experience and minimum 3 years of nursing experience

Facility:

This is a Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU facility offering a comprehensive labor and delivery program. The unit features 34 L&D beds and supports up to 300 deliveries per month, handling a wide range of high-acuity obstetric cases. The facility provides robust support services including 24/7 laborist coverage, respiratory therapy, anesthesia, phlebotomy, scrub techs, charge nurses, and break nurses to ensure quality patient care across all shifts.
