Opportunity:
RN - CVICU
Job Details:
* 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required every other weekend
* Patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of CVICU experience required
* Travel experience required
* Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
* Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Scrub color: Green scrubs required
* Care for post-sternotomy patients including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair, aortic dissection, carotid endarterectomy, lobectomy, and other cardiothoracic procedures
* Care for vascular patients with extensive co-morbidities and complications
* Experience with devices including CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Centrimag, VAD, and PA catheters required
* Skills required include arterial line management, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
* Self-scheduling unit with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
* Float to other units may be required based on census needs, limited to areas where competencies have been demonstrated
* Pre-assignment testing and modules required to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login information

This facility is a well-established health system offering comprehensive cardiac and vascular care within a specialized intensive care unit. The unit consists of 12 beds and maintains a daily census of 10 patients, with a strong interdisciplinary support team including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more.
