Job Details:
* Strong neuro experience required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience required
* No first-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Self-scheduling with 12-hour orientation
* No on-call required
* Weekend coverage required; must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* May float between ICU overflow and PCU/Tele units; travelers do not float first and float in rotation with all team members
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Patients include adults and geriatrics with a daily census of 28 and 24 beds plus 12 overflow beds
* Patient diagnoses include cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot wounds, stroke, STEMI, motor vehicle accidents, and orthopedic conditions
* High acuity neuro population; Level 2 Trauma, Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, STEMI receiving, CABG/Valve/IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and surgical cases
* Procedures include lines, intubations, cardiac and GI procedures at the bedside if patient is unstable; travelers will not be required to assist with ICP monitoring or placement, IABP, conscious sedation, GI procedures, or chest tube insertions
* Epic charting system (preferred experience)
* Scrub color: any color
* Free parking available
* Special equipment includes Alaris pumps, Roche meters, Bedside Phillips monitoring, ventilators, suction, drains, and chest tubes
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, LA City Fire Card
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed prior to start
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
* Locals accepted within a 50-mile radius

This is a Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 377 total staffed beds, recognized for excellence in nursing practice and patient outcomes. The facility operates as a Level 2 Trauma Center and a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center with a high-acuity neuro population. The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more.
