Job Details:

* Self-scheduling with no block schedules required
* Weekend shifts required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios of 1:4 on days and nights, 1:5 on weekends
* Position may float between units
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system experience required - any EHR accepted; current system is EPIC
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Required skills include: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, neuro stepdown, telemetry remote monitoring, aneurysm and repair, craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, pre/post neurosurgery, post TPA care, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal
* Licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN) are required to wear solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire (print tops are not acceptable)
* Special equipment used includes Viking Lift, Sara Steady, and Hoovermat
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility - refusal to float may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a 379-bed Level II Trauma Center offering a wide range of specialized services. The Neuro Telemetry unit consists of 29 beds with a daily census of approximately 27 patients and serves as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The unit treats a variety of complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions including TIA/stroke, epilepsy, subdural hematomas, and neurosurgical cases such as craniotomies and spinal procedures. The unit features an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with 4 dedicated beds for continuous EEG monitoring and utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach with support from IV teams, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
