Opportunity:

Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Work on a neurology unit specializing in neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patient care
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Float between units to meet unit needs as required
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Care for patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit operates with a daily census of 48 patients across 64 beds
* Must be proficient with NIH scale and experienced in caring for neurology diagnoses
* Work within a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Support a Spine Center of Excellence and NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, craniotomy care, CVA care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery care, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury care, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury care
* Charting system: Epic (required, hard stop)
* Scrub color: Any color
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Block schedules not required

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation, operating 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and a unit secretary. The facility holds multiple JCAHO designations and maintains high standards of specialized neurological and surgical care.
