Open Position: RN - Med Surg Float Pool

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2525.20

Opportunity:

RN - Float Pool / Med Surg

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
* 36 or 48 hours per week (overtime billed after 48 hours)
* Will call in daily to find out the unit assigned for that shift
* Must wear navy blue scrubs
* Float within Med Surg cluster and between campuses in Fargo
* Float coverage includes all med-surg units on Broadway, SMCF, and South University campuses, including med-surg overflow spaces and med-surg status patients within critical care units
* Med-surg specialty units include oncology, general med-surg, trauma med-surg, cardiac, neuro, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations
* Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4-5 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM and 1:5-6 from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Unit bed size ranges from 24-47 depending on the unit
* Perform head-to-toe assessments, medication administration by a variety of routes, care plan formulation and documentation, and wound/line/drain care
* Utilize Epic EMR, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vitals machines
* Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg experience in a busy large hospital with a minimum of 200 beds required
* Previous float pool or resource pool experience preferred
* Will not consider first-time travelers unless their primary experience is in Resource Pool or Float Pool
* Experience working within a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center required
* Experience working in a fast-paced hospital with 250+ beds required
* Active ND RN or compact state license required
* EPIC experience required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* Training includes one full shift on a Broadway med-surg unit and one full shift on a SMCF med-surg unit, plus team expectations and campus tours during week one
* Client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks
