Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

* Every 3rd weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* 16 non-billable orientation hours
* Float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
* Unit bed size of 30 with a patient ratio of 1:4-5
* Care for patient types including hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries
* Experience with drips including PCA and Heparin required
* Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
* 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
* Post-op surgical experience highly preferred
* Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries highly preferred
* PCA and Heparin experience required
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Work history must reflect 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience
* Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Telemetry required
* Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
* Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
* Driver's license required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC)

Facility:

This healthcare organization operates multiple campuses providing comprehensive inpatient medical and surgical services to the community. The Medical Surgical unit features 30 beds and specializes in post-operative care for a variety of surgical patient populations. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system and maintains a supportive work environment, including an emotional support canine on the unit.
