Opportunity:

RN - Emergency Department

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts
* Ability to float to any UCSF campus facility
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Daily census of approximately 60 patients
* 15 rooms and 17 beds on unit
* Treat patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* 2 years of emergency department experience required
* Pediatric emergency department experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Community hospital experience required
* Travel experience required with prior travel within 12 months
* BSN required
* Prior teaching hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
* Required certifications: CA RN License, AHA BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Preferred certifications: CPI, NRP, OCN, SANE, TNCC
* Clinical skills include management of arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, procedural sedation, intubation, ICP monitoring, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation
* Experience with trauma, neurological emergencies, psychiatric holds, pediatric emergencies, and multisystem organ dysfunction required
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services

This is a large academic medical center and teaching hospital offering a comprehensive emergency department that treats patients across all age groups. The facility is both a STEMI-certified and stroke-certified center with interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services. The emergency department is equipped to handle a high daily census with a robust team supporting complex and critical patient care needs.
