Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Details:

* Night shift position with 13 to 26 week contract options available
* 48-hour or 36-hour shift configurations accepted
* Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
* Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
* Strong cardiac stepdown experience required
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Self-scheduling
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit consists of 22 beds with a daily census of 20 patients
* Patient diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, PPM placement, defibrillator placement, ablations, arrhythmias, CVA, and medical telemetry overflow
* Required skills include: blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tubes, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, nasal cannula, PCA, peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, post MI, pre and post cardiac cath, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry, titrating cardiac drips, tracheostomy care, and use of rapid response and code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Float to other units and campuses may be required based on census needs; staff will only float to units where competencies have been demonstrated
* Pre-assignment testing and modules required to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login information
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale
* Arrhythmia and medication exam required
* Two pre-approved time off days available
