Opportunity:

Sterile Processing SUPERVISOR

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Friday through Sunday with holiday rotation
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks for guaranteed hours
* Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
* Floating to sister facilities required and may include CSC, ART, or West Campus
* Travel experience required
* Minimum of 3 years of sterile processing experience required, including leadership experience
* Level 1 Trauma experience required
* Experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrap required
* Preferred case experience includes: Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, Transplant, and GYN
* Required certifications: CBSPD and/or CRCST HSPA
* Advanced certifications (CIS, CER, CHL) preferred
* Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems preferred
* BLS not required
* Prior leadership experience required
* Directly supervise Lead Technicians and Sterile Processing Technicians I, II, III, and Non-Certified Technicians across all SPD work areas including decontamination, prep/pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage
* Provide daily staff assignments based on workload, case volume, and departmental priorities
* Oversee instrument tracking systems, documentation accuracy, and inventory control
* Collaborate with Educator/Manager on orientation and training plans
* Coordinate daily SPD operations to meet surgical and procedural case demands
* Monitor tray turnaround times, instrument availability, and case cart readiness
* Troubleshoot equipment, instrument, and workflow issues in real time
* Ensure proper segregation of clean/dirty workflows and adherence to infection prevention practices
* Ensure compliance with AAMI ST79, AORN guidelines, CDC recommendations, and regulatory standards
* Audit tray assembly accuracy, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling requirements
* Address service concerns and implement service recovery when needed
* Participate in interdisciplinary meetings related to instrumentation, workflow, and quality initiatives
* Monitor adherence to infection control, safety, and universal precautions across the department
* Organize, store, and distribute instruments, trays, and equipment to ensure availability
* Prepare instrument trays and equipment for sterilization processes
* Perform decontamination and sterilization of instruments, medical supplies, and equipment
* All requested time off must be provided at time of submission; no RTO will be approved after contract is signed
* Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet-designated hospital with 820 total staffed beds. The organization provides a comprehensive range of surgical and procedural services and maintains high standards for regulatory compliance and patient safety. The Sterile Processing Department plays a critical role in supporting perioperative operations, ensuring the safe and efficient reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical devices.
