Opportunity:
Sterile Processing SUPERVISOR
Job Details:
* 5x8 shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with holiday rotation
* No weekend requirement
* Will float between Main SPD and CSC depending on needs of the units
* May be required to float or be permanently switched to CSC, Main, or West Campus
* Floating to sister facilities required
* Guaranteed hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience required
* Prior leadership experience required
* Level 1 Trauma experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Required certifications: CBSPD and/or CRCST HSPA
* BLS not required
* Advanced certification (CIS, CER, CHL) preferred
* Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems preferred
* Experience with sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrap SPT required
* Preferred case experience: Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, Transplant, and GYN
* Directly supervise Lead Technician, Tech I, II, III, and Non-Certified Technicians across all SPD work areas including decontamination, prep/pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage
* Provide daily staff assignments based on workload, case volume, and departmental priorities
* Oversee instrument tracking systems, documentation accuracy, and inventory control
* Collaborate with Educator/Manager on orientation and training plans
* Coordinate daily SPD operations to meet surgical and procedural case demands
* Monitor tray turnaround times, instrument availability, and case cart readiness
* Troubleshoot equipment, instrument, and workflow issues in real time
* Ensure proper segregation of clean/dirty workflows and adherence to infection prevention practices
* Ensure compliance with AAMI ST79, AORN guidelines, CDC recommendations, and regulatory standards
* Audit tray assembly accuracy, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling requirements
* Address service concerns and implement service recovery when needed
* Participate in interdisciplinary meetings related to instrumentation, workflow, and quality initiatives
* Monitor adherence to infection control, safety, and universal precautions across the department
* Organize, store, and distribute instruments, trays, and equipment to ensure availability
* Prepare instrument trays and equipment for sterilization processes
* Perform decontamination and sterilization of instruments, medical supplies, and equipment
* All RTO must be provided at time of submission and no RTO will be approved after contract is signed
Facility:
This is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital with 820 total staffed beds. The facility operates multiple campuses and sterile processing locations, supporting a high-volume surgical and procedural environment. The Sterile Processing Department plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and compliant reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical devices across perioperative services.
