Open Position: RN - NICU

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2884.72

Opportunity:

RN - NICU-Based Float Pool

Job Details:

* Float pool position with required floating between NICU Level III, PICU, Pediatrics, Newborn Nursery, and Mother/Baby units (Mother/Baby assignments will not include caring for mothers)
* Appropriate patient assignment based on skill set will be provided when floated; floating is required without exception
* Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday)
* Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Patient ratios vary based on unit, acuity, census, and staffing
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, and pediatrics
* Active NJ or Compact license required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
* 1.5 years of experience required with documented NICU Level III and PICU experience
* EPIC charting experience required
* Dress code: Navy pants with Peds top
* Required IV therapy and medication skills: arterial line management, central line/implanted line care, UAC/UVC, IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
* Required cardiac and respiratory skills: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
* Required GI and neuro skills: feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), placement and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes, and neonatal abstinence syndrome management
* First-time travelers and local candidates accepted

Facility:

This facility features a 56-bed Level III NICU and serves as a Regional Perinatal Center, caring for more than 1,200 premature and ill newborns annually. The PICU provides comprehensive medical and surgical care supported by full-time pediatric critical care physicians and pediatric subspecialists. The facility is a 597-bed teaching hospital and a major teaching affiliate of a prominent New Jersey medical school, and is part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system.
