Sterile Processing Technician - Main OR

Job Details:

* Work in the Main OR sterile processing department at an acute care hospital
* Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience required
* Travel experience required
* National HSPA certification (IAHCSMM/HSPA) required
* BLS certification required
* No on-call responsibilities required
* Floating to sister ASC surgery center facility required
* Charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrubs provided for OR/sterile processing staff
* Daily census of approximately 30 cases with 12 operating rooms
* Patient population consists of adults
* Must be proficient in a wide range of sterile processing skills including: bariatrics, biological indicators, bronchoscopes, cardiac, case cart management, chemical indicators, colonoscopes, endoscopy, equipment documentation, high-level disinfection (HLD), immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS), laparoscopic procedures, manual cleaning, neurology, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, organizing trays, orthopedics, placing instruments on trays, plastics, podiatry, preference cards, proper labeling, proper selection of wrapping materials, robotics, scope/probe reprocessing, sets/trays assembly, steam sterilization testing/monitoring, sterilization wrapping procedures, Steris testing/monitoring, Sterrad testing/monitoring, transplant, urology, use of washers/sterilizers, and vascular
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
* Facility is permitted to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

This beachside acute care hospital features 266 staffed beds and operates 12 operating rooms with a daily census of approximately 30 surgical cases. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers comprehensive surgical services supporting a wide range of specialties including orthopedics, neurology, OB/GYN, robotics, urology, and vascular procedures. The organization maintains high standards for sterile processing and requires national certification to ensure the highest level of patient safety and care.
