Opportunity:

RN - Emergency Department

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with a schedule of every other weekend
* 36 hours per week guaranteed
* No floating policy - assigned to Emergency Department only
* Patient ratio of 4:1 in a 20-bed Emergency Department
* Current daily patient volume of approximately 105 patients
* Must be able to assess, treat, and manage both adult and pediatric emergency patients in a collaborative manner
* Provide excellent patient experience using AIDET, communication boards, and rounding protocols
* Give clearly defined discharge instructions and provide patient-centered care
* Move patients through their ED visit with quality and efficiency
* Perform advanced procedures including laceration repairs, closed reductions, intubations, lumbar punctures, incision and drainage, and splinting
* Work with GE monitors and document using MEDITECH system
* Work alongside unit clerks/monitor techs, paramedics, and advanced care techs
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Dress code: Scrubs required - solid color pants, print tops and jackets permitted; no camouflage, denim, hoodies, or fleece

Facility:

This regional hospital operates a busy Emergency Department with a tenured and experienced staff and charge nurses available on both day and night shifts. The facility boasts an average discharge length of stay of 150 minutes and an admitted length of stay of 240 minutes, with very few admitted holds exceeding 3-4 hours after an admission order is placed. The department benefits from an engaged provider group committed to seeing patients quickly, resulting in minimal patient complaints and a strong culture of teamwork.
