Open Position: Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Opportunity:

RRT - PICU/NICU/PEDI ER

Job Details:

* Work day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM
* Full-time position
* Must be able to work in PICU, NICU, and Pediatric ER
* Responsible for pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision
* Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans
* Perform various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout all areas of the hospital
* Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue and Code White
* Perform airway management including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
* Deliver aerosolized drugs and manage ventilator setup and operation
* Manage airway support devices including BiPAP and CPAP devices
* Monitor and manage oxygen delivery devices
* Perform chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis
* Maintain accurate and complete documentation
* Clean and stock equipment and supplies as necessary
* May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader (RRTs)
* Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management including INO and HeO2, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, polysomnography, and transport duties
* 1-3 years of experience preferred
* RT or RCP License in the state of Texas required
* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required
* BLS required (AHA only)
* ACLS required (AHA only)
* PALS required (AHA only)
* NRP required
