Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with day shifts running 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and night shifts running 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
* Rotating weekend coverage approximately every 3rd weekend depending on staffing and call-ins
* Holiday coverage required: 2 out of 3 winter holidays and every other holiday otherwise
* No on-call or standby call requirements
* Handle 20-25 treatments per day with typically 2 respiratory therapists per shift
* Treat mainly adult patients with minimal pediatrics and neonates (ER or newborn); may occasionally be asked to cover high-risk deliveries at very low frequency
* Cover inpatient, ER, ICU, medical-surgical floors, and facility emergencies in the clinic
* Perform basic therapies, ABGs, EKGs, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management including intubation weaning and extubation, charge verification, and timely/proper charting in Cerner
* Assist with intubation and insert king airways in emergency situations prior to provider arrival
* Operate ventilators including PB980, PB840, SurvoU, LTV1200, and Hamilton; BiPAP/CPAP devices including V60 and Home ResMed; and high-flow therapy using Optiflow
* Must have experience with vents, BiPAP, basic respiratory treatments, EKGs, and intubation assist
* Teamwork and ability to jump in and assist other therapists is essential
* Previous travel experience preferred
* Scrub color required: Dark Green
* Charting conducted in Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS (AHA), and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC - CRT not accepted

This acute care facility provides comprehensive inpatient and emergency services including ICU, medical-surgical floors, and clinic-based emergency response. The department is supported by hospitalists available 24/7, intensivists in house for the majority of the day, and an eICU for overnight needs. The respiratory therapy department maintains modern equipment and a structured orientation program to ensure therapists are well-prepared to deliver high-quality patient care.
