Job Details:

* 10-hour shift with variable start times possible at 6:30 AM, 8:30 AM, or 10:30 AM
* Must be available to work 7 days a week unless approved by manager
* Occasional weekend work required as determined by department needs
* On-call requirements: 4-6 call shifts per 6-week period from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM with 30-minute response time
* Schedule cycle runs in 6-week increments
* Shift time options vary and include:
- 8-hour Days: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- 8-hour Eves: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
- 10-hour Days: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- 10-hour Eves: 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM
- 12-hour Days: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM, or 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM
- Nights: 7 on/7 off, 8-hour weeknights and 12-hour weekend nights
* 40-50 cases per day average
* Minimum 2 years of acute/inpatient OR experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Required experience: Strong orthopedic experience including sports medicine, total joints, and orthopedic spine; DaVinci Robotics
* Additional case experience required: ENT (thyroid), general, GYN, vascular (AV fistulas, fem-pops), urology, and podiatry
* No open hearts, transplants, or high-level neuro surgeries performed
* RN responsibilities: Circulating with experience in applicable cases
* Surgical Tech responsibilities: Scrubbing with experience in applicable cases
* Anesthesia Tech responsibilities: Support anesthesia with robotics, arterial line management, ranger for massive transfusions, blood warmer, intubation, and tracking cart and anesthesia machine; required to float to support IR, Cath Lab, OB, GI, and MRI
* Preferred: DaVinci and Mazer robotics experience
* If low census in OR, RN and Surgical Tech travelers may be assigned to float to inpatient areas or ER for tasks such as vital sign collection, sitter duties, stocking, or simple CNA-type tasks only
* Required certifications by role:
- RN: BLS
- Surgical Tech: BLS, state license; CST preferred
- Anesthesia Tech: BLS, ASATT certification
* EMR: EPIC experience required for CAP backfills and preceptors
* IV Pump: Alaris
* Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
* Robotics equipment: DaVinci, Mazer
* Scrub color provided by facility
* Parking: Free
* No phones permitted on the unit
* Mandatory breaks:
- 12-hour shifts: Three 15-minute rest breaks and one 30-minute lunch
- 8-hour and 10-hour shifts: Two 15-minute rest breaks and one 30-minute lunch

Facility:

This facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 375 beds, featuring 11 operating rooms and 1 hybrid room. The facility handles a diverse range of surgical cases averaging 40-50 per day, with specialties including orthopedics, robotics, ENT, general surgery, GYN, vascular, urology, and podiatry. The department is supported by a strong team including charge RNs, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, surgeons, hospitalists, and respiratory therapy.
