Open Position: RN - Med Surg Tele

Opportunity:

Medical Surgical / Registered Nurse

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 48 or 36 hours per week
* Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required, strictly enforced
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Prior travel experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:6 utilizing a team nursing model (splitting caseload between 2 RNs, LPN, and Med Nurse)
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* 45-bed unit with primary surgical oncology patients, medical oncology overflow, and medical-surgical overflow
* Care responsibilities include wound care, drains, ostomies, Foley catheters, and PCA pumps
* Experience with central lines including PAC, PICC lines, and midlines required
* Chemotherapy administration for ONS-certified nurses only
* Skills required include IV start and conscious sedation
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend coverage required as needed
* Block scheduling not available; weekend block may be considered and must be discussed during interview
* Travelers must live at least 100 miles from the facility
* All requested time off must be included at time of submission
* If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, traveler must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays if all three fall during the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 if only 2 holidays fall during the assignment
* RNs may be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
* EPIC experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
