Opportunity:

LTAC ICU - NIGHT

Job Details:

* Night shift position in LTAC ICU unit
* 36 or 48 hours per week accepted; 40 hours per week Monday through Friday
* Weekend coverage supported by rotating on-call schedule among 6 to 8 staff members
* On-call required after 5:00 PM daily and on weekends, supported by primary and backup call staff
* Contract options available for 13 or 26 weeks
* Block scheduling type
* Patient ratios of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float requirement to Med Surg unit at a 1:5 ratio
* Staff work both the 12-bed ICU and 35-bed Med-Surg unit
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics (18 years and older)
* Common patient diagnoses include vent weaning, wound care, spinal cord injury, and trach/PEG
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
* Neurology experience required
* LTAC experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Charting system experience required; Epic EMR with minimum 1 year of experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Key skills include ventilator management, arterial line management, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, central line care, tracheostomy care, wound care, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Floating to other units and campuses may be required based on census needs; staff will only float to units they are qualified for

This facility is a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital offering specialized ICU and medical-surgical services. The facility operates a 12-bed ICU alongside a 35-bed Med-Surg unit, with staff working across both units. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available, including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services, ensuring a collaborative environment focused on complex patient care including ventilator weaning, wound care, and neurological conditions.
