Job Details:
* 36 or 48 hour shift option available
* Rotating weekend shifts required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 20 orientation hours required
* Two pre-approved time off requests allowed
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Travel experience open to first-time travelers
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Additional certifications preferred: PALS, TNCC
* Must be comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Experience with cardiovascular intensive care including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and post cardiac surgery patients required
* Must be proficient in arterial line management, central line care, and central venous pressure monitoring
* Experience with ventilator management and care of ventilated patients required
* Must be comfortable managing continuous IV sedation, IV paralytics, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
* Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and high flow nasal cannula required
* Must be proficient with special equipment including Hemosphere, Impella, Balloon Pump, and Tablo
* ECMO experience preferred but infrequently required
* Experience managing stroke, trauma, and neurosurgical patients preferred
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response teams
Facility:
This facility is a Level 2 Trauma center featuring a comprehensive stroke center and an advanced cardiac and open heart surgery program. The unit consists of 20 beds with a daily census of 15 patients and provides care for a wide range of complex diagnoses including CHF, MI/cardiomyopathy, sepsis, ECMO, hemodialysis/CRRT, and respiratory failure. The facility offers robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to support the clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care.
