RN - Oncology

Job Details:

* Care for adult and geriatric oncology patients with a staffing ratio of 1:5
* Average daily census of 25 patients across 8 rooms
* Administer IV chemotherapy including bladder installations
* Perform implanted port care, foley catheter insertions, peripheral IV insertions, and PICC line care
* Administer SQ/IM injections and blood products
* Care for patients with diagnoses including breast, bowel, bladder, brain, lung, gynecological, head and neck, prostate, pancreatic cancers, lymphomas, multiple myelomas, and chronic leukemias
* Also care for patients with chronic anemia, MDS, MS, ulcerative colitis/Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoporosis
* Monitor chemotherapy and recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
* Utilize Alaris infusion pumps, CADD infusion pumps, and lab centrifuge
* Document using Epic Beacon charting system - Epic experience required
* Utilize Pyxis medication system
* Coordinate care with pharmacy, social services, transportation, and unit secretary
* Provider support includes an intensivist/medical oncologist available daily by phone and in-house two days per week, and an NP available in-house one to two days per week
* Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
* Travel experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ONS/ONCC (Chemo)
* Inpatient and outpatient oncology work setting experience required
* Scrub color: Navy Blue

* Float to other units and/or facilities may be required
