Opportunity:

CVICU Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for nights and weekends
* Every other weekend required
* May float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU as needed
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers are welcome
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
* Scrub color: Navy
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit consists of a mix of cardiac surgical and cardiac medical patients, with occasional adult medical ICU overflow
* Required clinical skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, CVVHD/CRRT, PICC line management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, sheath removal, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Facility:

This facility operates a 24-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit with a daily census of 20 patients. The unit provides comprehensive cardiac surgical and medical intensive care services supported by a strong interdisciplinary team. The facility offers robust support services and fosters a welcoming environment for traveling healthcare professionals.
