Job Details:

* Night shift position on a Progressive Care Unit located at the Heart Hospital, functioning as a cardiac stepdown unit
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* 48 hours straight time
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5
* Weekend requirement: as needed, rotating
* Float requirement: yes, travelers will be expected to float to like units within scope as needed
* No on-call requirement
* Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
* Self-scheduling
* 2 years of experience preferred; 1+ year will be considered
* First-time travelers accepted
* Cardiovascular experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI preferred
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Scrub color: any (no logo)
* Patient population: adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and cardiovascular-related conditions
* 55-bed unit with a daily census of approximately 38 patients
* Key skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, titration of cardiac drips, post cardiac angiogram/cath care, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services

This facility is a specialized heart hospital that operates as part of a larger medical center, providing advanced cardiovascular care to patients. The unit functions as a cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population and 55 beds, offering comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The facility is equipped to handle a wide range of cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures in a collaborative care environment.
