Opportunity:

Sterile Processing Technician - Main OR

Job Details:

* Work in the Main OR sterile processing department of an acute care hospital
* Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience required
* Travel experience required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating required to sister ASC surgery center facility
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks (guaranteed hours policy)
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Daily census of approximately 30 cases with 12 operating rooms
* Patient ratios: 20 during days, 3 during nights
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrubs provided for OR staff
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: BLS, IAHCSMM/HSPA (National HSPA certification required)
* Required skills include: sterile processing, high-level disinfection, scope/probe reprocessing, sterilization wrapping procedures, sets/tray assembly, use of washers/sterilizers, robotics, laparoscopic, orthopedics, general surgery, and additional specialty areas including bariatrics, cardiac, neurology, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, transplant, urology, and vascular
* Must have experience with biological indicators, chemical indicators, IUSS, steam sterilization, Steris and Sterrad testing/monitoring
* All RTO requests must be submitted at time of submission; post-submittal RTO may not be considered or granted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred

Facility:

This acute care hospital is a beachside facility with 266 staffed beds, offering a full-service surgical environment including 12 operating rooms. The facility supports a wide range of surgical specialties and maintains high standards for sterile processing and patient care. The organization utilizes Epic for charting and provides scrubs for OR and sterile processing staff.
