Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry/Step-Down

Job Details:

* 13 to 26 week contract options available
* Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
* Block scheduling type
* Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on unit need
* Floating to med/surg units may be required based on census needs
* Step-down unit from ICU; no ventilators or pressor support
* Patient ratio of 6:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* 28-bed unit with a daily census of 28 patients
* Adult patient population
* Patient diagnoses include higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post heart catheterization
* Drips managed include heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
* Telemetry monitoring required, including on-unit and remote monitoring
* Special equipment: peritoneal dialysis
* Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of ABGs, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drip titration, pre/post cardiac cath care, pre/post hemodialysis management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Tennessee nursing license required
* 24 orientation hours included
* One pre-approved time off request permitted per contract
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

The step-down unit provides specialized cardiac and telemetry services, supporting patients transitioning from the ICU.
