Job Details:

* 3x12 night shifts with various days of the week scheduled
* 7 weekend shifts required per contract
* No on-call required
* Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 days and 1:6 nights; ratios may flex up based on staffing and unit needs
* Must be comfortable with and have prior experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios
* Float required to all med/surg units and may float to sister facilities based on facility needs
* Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required as an RN; first-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of RN experience
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, CPR
* Colorado or Compact RN license required
* Scrub color: Navy
* Care for adult and geriatric patients including general med/surg, neurosurgical, back surgery, and orthopedic patients (primarily hips, knees, and shoulders)
* Skills required include CVA, isolation precautions/PPE, med/surg, MS/tele, ortho trauma, PCA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, total joint replacement, traumatic brain injury, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 28-bed medical surgical unit with a specialized focus on neurosurgical and orthopedic care, including ortho trauma, elective orthopedic surgery, and neurosurgical patients. The unit utilizes Epic for charting and maintains a daily census of approximately 30 patients across 27 rooms. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available on-site, including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support.
