Opportunity:
Labor and Delivery Nights
Job Details:
* Night shift position with a block schedule
* Every other weekend coverage required
* Holiday requested time off allowed
* Patient ratio of 3 patients per nurse on nights
* 15-bed unit
* 1-2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
* Experience in a high acuity, fast paced unit required
* Basic/intermediate fetal monitoring experience required
* Travel experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP - must be in hand at time of submission
* Float to like units within scope as needed based on facility needs
* Self-scheduling
* Required skills include: administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, antepartum care, antihypertensives, APGAR scores, assisting with high risk and vaginal deliveries, baby friendly protocols, cesarean section, circulating for C-sections, epidural anesthesia, fetal heart rate monitoring, hemorrhage/shock management, magnesium sulfate therapy, pitocin administration, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia care, postpartum hemorrhage management, preterm labor management, triage of obstetrical patients, and use of external and internal fetal monitoring
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary

The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The facility maintains a self-scheduling model and provides travelers with a brief orientation when floating to like units.
