Opportunity:
RN - NICU
Job Details:
* Option to work 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with no call, or 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with call requirement
* If 3x12 schedule is selected, at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly is required
* Every other weekend coverage required
* Float may be required to other NICU units or facilities as needed
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in field required
* No first-time travelers accepted
* Travel experience required
* NICU Level II and Level III experience required
* Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
* Documentation system: EPIC
* Unit system: Pyxis/Omnicell
* Patient ratio: 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 40 orientation hours
* Care for neonates and infants 22 weeks gestation and greater with diagnoses including abdominal wall defects, HIE, RDS/RFS, drug exposure/withdrawal, hypoglycemia, sepsis, TEF, Duodenal Atresia, Diaphragmatic Hernia, Urethral Stenosis, myelomeningocele, and ROP
* Special procedures include full body cooling, chest tubes, surgical repair of anomalies (excluding cardiac), tracheostomy management, Avastin administration, and laser eye surgery
* Special equipment includes Arctic Sun, Blanketrol, Jet Ventilator, HFOV, Draeger Ventilator, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, Alaris, Philips Central, B Braun feeding pumps, Infinity feeding pumps, Atom Dual Incubators, GE Dual Incubators, Draeger Caleos, radiant warmers, external shunt, and ostomy
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, and SC license
Facility:
This facility operates a 41-bed NICU unit with a daily census of 38, providing comprehensive care for critically ill neonates and infants. The unit offers robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The facility maintains high standards of specialized neonatal care, including advanced surgical and therapeutic procedures for complex patient diagnoses.
