Opportunity:
RN - Float Pool Med Surg
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation
* 36 or 48 hours per week (overtime billed after 48 hours)
* Call in daily to find out the unit assigned for that shift
* Float within Med-Surg cluster and between campuses in Fargo
* Float to all med-surg units on Broadway, SMCF, and South University campuses, including med-surg overflow spaces and med-surg status patients within critical care units
* Med-surg specialty units include oncology, general med-surg, trauma med-surg, cardiac, neuro, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM and 1:5-6 from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Unit bed size ranges from 24 to 47 depending on the unit
* Perform head-to-toe assessments, medication administration by a variety of routes, care plan formulation and documentation, and wound, line, and drain care
* Utilize Epic EMR, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vitals machines
* Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg experience in a busy large hospital with a minimum of 200 beds required
* Previous float pool or resource pool experience preferred
* Experience working within a Level 1 trauma center required
* Experience working in a fast-paced hospital with 250+ beds required
* EPIC experience required
* Active ND RN or compact state license required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
* Must badge in and out at the facility
* Client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks

The facility features a robust Med-Surg cluster encompassing a wide range of specialty units including oncology, cardiac, neuro, trauma, and medical behavioral units. The organization offers a thorough orientation program that includes full shifts on multiple campuses along with team expectation training and campus tours.
