RN - Float Pool
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Night shift position with every other weekend requirement
* First to float as needed across both campuses
* Float pool covers ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU across both campuses, including inpatients holding in ED
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
* At least 1 year of ICU experience required
* Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract
* Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
* Must be able to interpret cardiac monitor strips
* Common patient populations include geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cardiac patients, post MI, post cardiac cath, and CABG post-op day 3-4
* RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow in PCU; CPAP and BiPAP at night in MedSurg
* Nurse aides available in all settings
* Charge nurses on each unit and do not take patient assignments
* Schedule is published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time; travelers must be flexible
* Night shift will attempt to accommodate block scheduling
* Travelers will be included in holiday rotation with permanent staff
* Standby requirement on shifts with excessive staff; may be called in at any point during the 12-hour shift
* Unit assignment notifications sent via text message 2 hours prior to shift start
* Solid color professional scrubs required; transitioning to navy scrubs per updated dress code guidelines
* Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required
