Job Details:

* Must have charge experience
* Full-time position requiring 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
* Work in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 9 beds, 1 OBED bed, 4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite
* Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1 until stable; NICU 1:3 intermediate care with minimum 2 NICU nurses required in unit at all times
* Must have labor and delivery experience including ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn including assessment
* Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred
* Fetal monitoring education and experience with inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil) required
* Perform procedures including C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
* Use equipment including CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps
* Document using Meditech and CPN systems
* No unit secretaries or techs available on unit
* Complete daily rounding and SAFETY rounding on all patients
* Float within the facility as needed if not required on unit; some staff cross-trained to float between LDRP and NICU
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training
* Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security policy

Facility:

This facility is a Joint Commission certified medical center holding designations as a Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, and Level II NICU. The Women's Services unit is supported by a highly experienced nursing team, with several nurses bringing approximately 30 years of experience and others with 7 to 10 years of tenure. The unit functions as a collaborative team and serves as an excellent environment to gain comprehensive experience across labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care.
