Opportunity:

Radiology - Mammography Technologist

Job Details:

* Day shift position
* Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by licensed practitioners
* Perform medical imaging techniques and related procedures to demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention
* Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure and ensure information is documented and available for licensed practitioners
* Prepare patients for procedures, provide instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety
* Select and operate radiography equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results
* Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability and comfort
* Determine radiographic technique exposure factors, minimizing exposure to patient and others
* Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded
* Verify informed consent for and assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures
* Practice aseptic techniques as necessary
* Prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner in accordance with state statutes and institutional policy
* May be floated to other departments where qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated
* Required education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
* Required certifications: OBMI and ARRT registered Mammography Technologist, current BLS certification
* Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently and push, pull, carry, or reposition objects or patients weighing up to 25 pounds frequently
