Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

* Work on a 36-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
* Unit staffing includes a secretary every day and PRN techs
* Schedule requires 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block
* Float over core staff per floating policy
* Perform basic patient assessments and general care including wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
* Work with patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps; only drip administered is Heparin
* Manage post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
* Utilize equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
* Document using Meditech system
* Conduct bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1-2 hours with a focus on communication and responsiveness
* Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
* Adhere to fall prevention policies
* Maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* Dress code: Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue

The unit is led by experienced charge nurses and leadership dedicated to ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for all staff. All contractors are treated as core staff and held to the same level of accountability and recognition, fostering a culture of teamwork and patient-centered care.
