1E - MedSurg/Infectious Disease

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with 30-minute lunch break
* Weekend requirement: every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday for night shifts)
* Travel nursing experience required
* EPIC charting system experience required
* BLS (AHA) certification required
* Patient ratios of 1:5-6 typically, 1:4 if COVID patients
* Care for patients with infectious diseases including isolation, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff
* Strong knowledge required in MedSurg, infectious disease, and isolation precautions
* Manage Heparin and typical MedSurg IV medications, antibiotics
* No cardiac drips or ventilators - patients may have CPAP, BiPAP, or high flow oxygen managed by respiratory therapy
* Remote telemetry monitoring from 3rd floor - RNs do not read or interpret strips
* First to float to other MedSurg units or telemetry within skillset
* Royal blue scrubs required - scrub jackets must be royal blue if worn, no hoodies or sweat jackets
* 2-day orientation: 1 day EPIC training, 1 day floor orientation with preceptor, independent on day 3
* Holiday work may be required based on unit needs
* May be called off for low census depending on contract terms
* Unexpired driver's license copy required for submission

Facility:

This acute care facility features an 18-bed medical-surgical infectious disease unit with all private rooms designed specifically for isolation care. The unit is staffed with 3-4 RNs per shift and maintains 24/7 charge nurse coverage, with 2 CNAs per shift for patient support. The facility utilizes EPIC charting system and provides comprehensive care for patients requiring infectious disease management and isolation precautions.
