Opportunity:

RN - Burn ICU/PCU

Job Details:

* Burn ICU/PCU unit with mixed acuity level department serving ICU/PCU/TELE/M/S level patients
* Adult patients only with patient ratios that vary based on acuity
* 6-bed unit with patients remaining in the unit from admission to discharge regardless of level of care
* 3 weekend shifts required in a 4-week scheduling period
* No on-call requirements
* ICU or PCU background required; burn experience preferred but not required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH; ABLS preferred but not required
* Must be cardiac rhythm proficient
* Hemodynamic monitoring and hemodynamic drip titration proficiency required
* Procedures performed on unit include debridement, dressing changes, line insertion, chest tube insertions and maintenance, and post-operative procedural care
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Hill-Rom beds and call light system, GE cardiac monitoring equipment, AirStrip for cardiac rhythms, and iMobile phones for communication
* Float policy requires floating to like units (ICU/PCU/CCU); agency staff floated first when needed
* Dress code requires navy blue scrub top, navy blue or black scrub pants, and scrub jacket; no t-shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts allowed
* Must uphold patient experience standards including courtesy, respect, and adherence to bedside shift report requirements

This facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and verified Trauma, Stroke, and Cardiac facility offering a strong multidisciplinary care model. The Burn ICU/PCU unit is supported by a dedicated burn surgeon and advanced practice provider, critical care intensivists available 24/7, unit-based paramedics, and a comprehensive team including nurse practitioners, intensivists, rehab specialists, dietary staff, pharmacists, and case management. The unit is known for its teamwork-oriented culture, experienced core staff, and travel nurse-friendly environment.
