Opportunity:

RN - Labor & Delivery (High Risk)

Job Details:

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required; 5 years of high risk experience highly preferred
* Work in a high risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with an average daily census of 15 patients and 500-600 deliveries per month
* Unit has 31 rooms and 31 beds with 4 operating rooms available
* Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum units and may float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to Postpartum
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections - hard stop requirement
* Must be able to provide newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, thigh injections, and newborn assessments - hard stop requirement
* Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system required
* Experience with electronic fetal monitoring required
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines with a patient ratio of 1:2
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Administer and manage Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Interdisciplinary support available including Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 supervisory references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Orientation hours: 36

This high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery facility operates 31 beds across 31 rooms with 4 operating rooms dedicated to supporting all types of obstetric deliveries. The facility follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, social services, and interpretation services. The unit serves a diverse patient population and is committed to delivering exceptional maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
