Job Details:
* Night shift position working 10-hour shifts on a 7 on 7 off schedule, Wednesday through Tuesday
* EPIC experience required
* Performs specimen collection and accession receiving
* Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks
* Verifies specimen identification and appropriateness of sample type and volume for indicated testing
* Processes samples using aseptic technique and prepares required paperwork for appropriate testing and reference lab testing
* Communicates effectively with other departments, staff, physicians, and their offices to facilitate flow and quality of lab work
* Monitors and maintains equipment as needed per regulations
* Follows established guidelines for missed collections, recollects, and difficult phlebotomies
* Assists in ordering supplies and manages stock including expiration dates, usage, and delivery times
* Coordinates with Lead Phlebotomist to run daily quality controls and other required testing
* Performs proficiency testing per regulatory agency procedures
* Participates in departmental performance improvement and quality assurance activities
* High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent preferred
* Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I or CPT II) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license preferred
* Minimum two years of recent experience in field required
* Current BLS certification required
