Job Details:

* 13-week contract assignment
* 3x12 hour rotating shifts, alternating between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Rotation cadence varies - could be a month of each shift, two weeks of each, or occasional one-week swaps; shifts never swap within a couple of days or within the same week
* Self-scheduling
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 3 weekend shifts per contract
* Float to like units may be required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Previous critical care experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Cerner charting system experience highly preferred and required
* Travel experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS
* Key skills include: arterial line management, care of ventilated patient, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, neuro intensive care, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury management, and ventilator management
* Caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more

Facility:

This is a regional academic medical center serving patients across more than 29 counties in West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and southern Ohio. The facility is one of the ten largest general hospitals in the state and operates a 20-bed ICU with a daily census of 20 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.
