Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Details:

* Day shift from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (blocked schedule)
* Rotating night call requirement
* Every 3rd weekend required
* No float requirement
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* 40 hours of unit orientation
* Scrubs color: Royal Blue
* Minimum of 5 years of experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Required certifications: ARRT N and CNMT
* Previous charge experience, Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Charting system experience required; Epic and Pyxis utilized on unit
* Community hospital experience required
* Must be proficient with Siemens equipment
* Work settings include adult, clinic, hospital, nuclear cardiology, and pediatrics
* Procedures include gastric emptying, HIDA scan, and MUGA scan
* Bone scan procedures: 3 phase, limited, and whole body
* Brain scan procedures: cerebral blood flow
* Liver/spleen scan procedures: liver imaging and liver scan-hemangioma
* Lung scan procedures: DTPA aerosol, perfusion, and ventilation/perfusion
* Renal flow procedures: flow/function, renal/perfusion, three phase, and with Lasix
* Shunt procedures: abdominal and ventricular
* Thyroid studies: cancer survey, I-123 uptake scan, and uptake scan
* Tumor localization: limited and whole body
* SPECT procedures: bone, brain, liver, renal, and sestamibi parathyroid scan
* Myocardial procedures: adenosine infusion, exercise/rest-multiple, and pharmacological stress
* Professional skills required: drawing venous blood, isolation precautions/PPE, starting and maintaining IVs, and storing/handling/disposal of radioactive materials
* Patients served include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 16 with 4 rooms available

This facility operates a comprehensive nuclear medicine department supporting a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The unit maintains a daily census of 16 and provides interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility is committed to high-quality imaging and diagnostic care utilizing advanced nuclear medicine technology and protocols.
