Job Details:

* 17-week contract for holiday coverage
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a large volume ED with high acuity patients required
* First-time travelers will be considered
* Available shift times include: Days 7:00 AM?7:00 PM, 9:00 AM?9:00 PM, Mids 10:00 AM?10:00 PM, 11:00 AM?11:00 PM, 12:00 PM?12:00 AM, 1:00 PM?1:00 AM, 2:00 PM?2:00 AM, Evenings 3:00 PM?3:00 AM, Nights 7:00 PM?7:00 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required; back-to-back weekends possible but rare; flexibility preferred
* No on-call or floating requirements
* Scrub color: Any, no logos
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
* EMR: Epic experience required
* Required skills include: barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage experience (must pass hospital's Triage Test before allowed to triage), ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, splinting, BiPAP/ventilators, and strong understanding of ESI
* Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
* Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus
* Patient types include neonates to geriatric, pediatrics (medical and trauma), stroke (administer TNK), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health and substance use disorder, and stabilize-and-transfer cases including neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high acuity pediatric patients
* Patient ratios: 1:3?5 based on acuity
* Fast track zone available with 13 beds; ED is organized in zones

Facility:

This is a 226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital featuring a 34-bed emergency department that sees 200?250 patients per day, making it the busiest ED in the state. The facility operates as a Level III trauma center with a comprehensive range of services including cardiac catheterization lab, stroke care, behavioral health, and pediatric emergency medicine. The ED is organized into zones including a fast track green zone, and the facility utilizes Epic as its electronic medical record system.
