Job Details:

* Day shift position on a 32-bed Med Surg Neuro unit
* 36 or 48 hour per week schedule available; hours beyond 48 are paid at overtime rate
* Self-scheduling available
* 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
* No on-call required
* Floating to like units as needed
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Rapid response team activation available
* 1 year of recent Med Surg experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Epic charting system used
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS (pending okay); CPI preferred
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

This facility is a full-service medical center offering comprehensive inpatient care across multiple specialty units. The Med Surg Neuro unit operates with 32 beds and is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The facility is affiliated with an additional heart hospital location and provides travelers with a structured orientation process and a collaborative care environment.
