Opportunity:

Med Surg Neuro Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position on a 32-bed Med Surg Neuro unit
* 36 or 48 hour per week schedule options available; any hours over 48 per week are considered overtime
* 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating to like units as needed
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
* Rapid response team activation required
* Self-scheduling unit
* 1 year of recent Med Surg or Neuro experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Epic charting system used
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (pending okay)
* CPI certification preferred
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

This facility is a full-service medical center offering comprehensive inpatient care across a wide range of specialties. The Med Surg Neuro unit operates with 32 beds and maintains consistent nurse-to-patient ratios across all shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. The facility supports an interdisciplinary care model with access to physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
