Job Details:
* Night shift position on a Medical-Surgical unit
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Float to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs
* 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule with holiday rotation as determined by manager
* 29-bed unit with a daily census of 20-25 patients
* Adult patient population
* 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Valid KS or Compact RN license required at time of submission
* BLS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Patient diagnoses include post-surgical bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, OBGYN, ENT, urology, oncology, and medical overflow
* Required skills include accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube care, heparin, insulin, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post neurosurgery, pre/post thoracic surgery, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, total joint replacement, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation

This facility is a medical-surgical unit equipped with 29 beds and a daily census of 20-25 patients. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility serves adult patients across a wide range of surgical and medical specialties, maintaining consistent staffing ratios to ensure quality patient care.
