Job Details:

* General Med Surg unit serving adult and geriatric patient population
* Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend shift required
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
* Holiday coverage required - if one or two major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* 12 orientation hours required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certification: BLS
* Epic charting system experience required; also utilizes Pyxis and SBAR
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, heparin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, Med/Surg, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
