Job Details:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required; 5 years of high-risk experience preferred
* Must have experience in high acuity and high-paced environments
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum units and between sister facilities that handle Mother/Baby care
* Work every other weekend and holidays as needed; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
* Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
* Average daily census of 15 patients per day with 500-600 deliveries per month
* Unit consists of 31 rooms and 31 beds with 4 operating rooms
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of newborn until transfer to postpartum
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections - hard stop requirement
* Must provide newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, thigh assessments, and newborn assessments
* Administer and manage Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Must have proficiency with EPIC electronic fetal monitoring
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Patient ratio experience: 1:2
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 supervisory references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Facility:
This facility operates a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with 31 beds and 4 operating rooms, providing comprehensive obstetric care to a diverse patient population. The unit is supported by an extensive interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The facility follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and utilizes EPIC as its electronic health records and fetal monitoring system, ensuring a high standard of care for both mothers and newborns.
