Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts covering a combined adult and pediatric emergency department
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 3 out of 6 weekend shifts required per contract
* Self-scheduling unit
* 40 orientation hours required
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Float coverage required for Observation Unit (ER Hold patients)
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Average daily census of 105 with approximately 135 visits per day
* Unit operates with 20 rooms and 26 beds
* Scrubs: No prints; providers may wear their own scrubs
* Charting system: Epic
* Community hospital experience preferred
* At least 1 year of experience required
* California state license required; compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
* TNCC preferred in hand prior to start; candidates willing to obtain TNCC before start may be submitted as a screen
* Patient age groups served: Neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics) facility
* Level 3 trauma facility
* STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility
* Key clinical skills required include: triage, IV insertion and maintenance, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, chest tube management, ICP monitoring, intubation, phlebotomy, psychiatric hold and suicidal patient management, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, lift teams, phlebotomy, interpretation services, and unit secretary
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off; all RTO must be submitted upfront during the submittal process
* 2 professional references required, covering 1 year (within the last 3 years), submitted during the compliance process prior to start

Facility:

This facility is a Level 3 trauma center and an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP), providing comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The facility is both STEMI and Stroke Certified, offering a high level of specialized care supported by a robust interdisciplinary team. With 20 rooms and 26 beds in the emergency department, the facility manages a high patient volume and is equipped to handle a wide range of acute and critical medical conditions.
