Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
* Schedule per unit needs with every third weekend required
* No holiday RTO permitted for this role
* Minimum of 7 call days per month required
* Typical call schedule includes two call days per week for two weeks each month and one call weekend per month
* Additional call coverage may be required to meet departmental needs, rotated equitably among all staff
* Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs; IR callback time is determined based on procedure type
* Call team consists of three staff members, one of whom must be an RN
* No float requirement
* 40 to 80 hours of unit orientation provided; techs start directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions training is completed
* Scrubs are provided
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Must have IR experience 90% of all cases are IR
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ARRT or RCIS
* Preferred certifications: ARRT Advanced Cert, RCES, RCIS with medical experience
* Required skills: Scrub, circulate, telemetry
* Preferred skills: EKG lead placement
* Additional required skills include: accurate monitoring, carotid stenting, catheter/drain exchange, diagnostic cardiac cath lab, internal/external biliary drainage, left and right heart catheterization, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, renal artery stent placement, room circulation, scrub to maintain sterile field, stent placement, thoracentesis, ureteral stent placement, kyphoplasties, and biopsies
* Assist provider while performing diagnostic/interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
* Scrub and circulate IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures
* Medication administration is performed by RN only
* Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with diagnoses including pacemaker and ICD implants
* Combo lab environment with an approximate 80-90% IR and 10-20% cardiology/vascular/EP procedure split
* Special equipment includes: GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Penumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, Implanta Plasma Blade Cutter, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit, IABP, and Impella

This facility operates a combination interventional radiology, cardiology, vascular, and electrophysiology lab providing a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures. The department maintains a high-volume IR focus and is equipped with advanced imaging and procedural technology to support complex cardiology and radiology cases. The unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team and maintains strong protocols around urgent and emergent procedures including STEMI response.
